Donald C. "Kim" Maliskey Jr., 61, passed away Thursday. Kim fought hard but lost his battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, son, brother, daddy, papa, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. He had many passions. He was once a volunteer policeman and was a certified airline pilot. One of his favorite things he enjoyed doing was calling Western Square Dancing. He was a member of the National Square Dance Caller's Association. Kim touched so many lives. He made a friend everywhere he went. Just to know him was a blessing. He will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald C. Maliskey Sr. and his mother, Phyllis Grant Maliskey. Survivors include his wife, Gayle GRIDER Maliskey; daughter, Kimberley Jacks and husband, John Jacks Jr., of Birmingham; brothers, John P. Maliskey of Rockwood, Tenn., Thomas J. Maliskey and wife, Bobbie, of Panama City, Fla., and Walter W. Maliskey of Rockwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Courtney Gayle Jacks, Jakey Jacks and Nicholas Jacks; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Laughlin Service. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carl Malm officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Kim was the husband of Gayle GRIDER MALISKEY. Gayle is the daughter of Aubrey and Jerusha COOLEY GRIDER.
