LACIE ADAMS SHELLEY OBITUARY
Lacie Adams Shelley, 96, of Nichols, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Horry County on March 26, 1922, a daughter of the late Thomas W. Adams and Eppie Adams Small. A Godly woman, Mrs. Shelley was a devoted member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she served as the first and only female deacon and as a member of the WMU. She loved flowers and cooking and canning the fruits and vegetables that were grown on the family farm, Shelley Farms. Her greatest love was for her family. Mrs. Shelley was a member of Women in Rural Electricity and was awarded the 2012 Woman of the Year for Horry Electric.
She was predeceased, in addition to her parents, by her beloved husband, James C. Shelley, Sr.; her son, Dr. Dewey Randall Shelley, an infant son, three brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018 at Meares Funeral Home of Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11th at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Nichols with her son, Reverend James C. Shelley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
