Lemuel Clary Sledge is found listed as both Sam or Samuel and Lem or Lemuel on official records. This is due to the fact that L's and S' were written to look very much alike. Census records show him as Lemuel Clary. His father's will lists him as Sam Clary. Census records indicate that Lemuel Clary Sledge and Jane Fuglar may have had more than ten children. We believe the above listed were among their children.
