Lena went to Oldham Girls Grammar School but when she left she didn't want to go out to work. Her mother took in washing and Lena was happy to do hat and housework. She learned to drive and hey had a Daimler car so she chauffered for the family. When she was 18 she married Harry Fielding who worked for Platts Engineering Oldham.

She lived to be 74 and thy had one daughter, Mavis. Her Husband Harry ied many years before her of chest (possibly lung?) cancer.
