Lonnie Ross

LONNIE ROSS, 86, husband of Joyce (Bowman) Ross, passed away January 9, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Lexington, KY.

He was born November 13, 1926 in Estill County, the son of Green and Nellie (Harris) Ross. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a member of Grace Baptist Church, Proctor Lodge #213 F&AM, a lifetime member of the Lee County Shrine Club and a lifetime member of the Three Forks Post #11296 VFW.

In addition to his wife, Joyce Ross, he is survived by two sons, Hargis (Tita) Ross and David (Lisa) Ross of Beattyville, KY; daughters, Sharon (Joe) Ross of Lexington, KY, and Karen Baker of Atlanta, GA; stepson Harold David (Terrie) Taulbee; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; brothers, Eugene (Patty) Ross of Beattyville, KY, Albert Ross of Shelbyville, KY and Robert Ross of Austin, IN; sisters Marian (Lucian) Reece of cambridge City, IN and Frances (Gene) Shanks of Dayton, OH. He was preceded in death b yhis parents, brothers, Hargis Ross, Herman Ross, Levi Ross and sisters Nellie Green Fox, Irene Redfern and jessie Harding. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1 p.m. followed by burial in the Riverview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jason Ross, Kyle Ross, Jay Baker, Gary York, Chris Taulbee, Tom Deaton, Robert Durvin and Larry Perdue. Honorary pallbearers were JB Bowman, Jim Combs, Clifford Couch, Vic Gentry, Terry Hazewood, Rick Johnson, John David Sipple, Brian, Joe, Lucien and Rick Reece.
