OREGONIAN, Portland, OR, 9 Jan 1912 Louis Gaston Gottschalk, eminent baritone and one of the best known vocal teachers, died last Sunday morning in Chicago from Hodgkin's disease.
BELLINGHAM HERALD, Bellingham, WA, 9 Jan 1912 L. Gaston Gottschalk, age 66, died in Chicago. He was known as a grand opera singer and former vocal instructor. He retired from active work and moved to Portland, OR only to return last April to Chicago to die among friends. He had lived in Chicago for thirty years.
Louis Gaston Gottschalk was granted a divorce the 22nd of May 1896 from Louise B. Gottschalk. Louise lived in New York with her grown children.
Louis Gaston was the youngest child of the family and brother to Louis Moreau Gottschalk and George Edward Gottschalk.
