Louiza Saile

Louiza Saile was born in 1785 in Germany. He is the first to come to Syrcuse, NY. His wife is unknown. Louiza was a sailing ship master. It has been claimed that he sailed to Lapland and stayed two years. In 1825, he sailed down the St. Lawrence river to Lake Ontario and down a canal south to Brerinton on lake Oneida and took an 18 mile carriage to Syracuse to witness the opening of the Erie Canal eastward to Albany. His eldest son Anthony accompanied Louiza when he was 16 years old.
