Iscoed was the family home. It had come into the family in the early 1600's. It was rebuilt by his father, Sir William Mansel in the second half of the 18th C.
Smedmore was the family home of his wife, Louisa Pleydell who was a co-heiress with her sisters. It was originally the home of the Clavell family and then descended to the Pleydells. John & Louisa bought the other sisters out.

If I can be of any further help, please do contact me.
