William's birth, professional, and death information are available in his obituary in The New York Times, Monday, May 1, 1972, page 36. William had graduated from the Choate School and in 1942 from Harvard College. He was vice president of the Arthur Schroeder Paper Company and an official of the National Horse Show.
During World War Two, William served as a lieutenant in the United States Army Air Forces.
