

Lula was the daughter of Daniel Webster Patton and Eliza Jane Fritter Patton; wife of William Walter Groves; and mother of Mittie Virginia Payne, Daniel Webster Groves, Nellie Irene Humphrey, Dorothy English, Lenwood Lane Groves and Melbry Roberta Beach.
In April 1901, Lula married William Walter Groves. They lived in Stafford County and had six children. Her husband worked as a carpenter.
