6.3. Lupo (* 525 o 550 + dopo il 603 A.D)
Da identificarsi con ogni probabilità con quel Lupo che fu Duca di Champagne 575-81. Visse alla corte di re Sigeberto di cui fu Consigliere v. G. Zonta, G. Balsamo-Crivelli, "Storia della letteratura italiana", Volume 1, Torino 1932, pag. 38: "Venanzio portò tra la truce efferatezza dei Merovingi uno sprazzo di raffinatezza, di cultura e di civiltà romana, per cui ben più a lui si addice il vanto ch'egli attribuisce a Lupo, consigliere di Sigeberto: "Sotto di te, Roma è qui ritornata e rivive".
Fu molto caro anche alla moglie del re Sigeberto, la regina Brunilde: "Due Duchi, Ursione e Bertefredo, presero d'asalto la residenza di uno degli uomini più fidati di brunilde, Lupo, che si preparò a resistere". v. 6.3. Lupo (* 525 or 550 + after 603 AD) To be identified in all probability with that Lupo who was Duke of Champagne 575-81. He lived at the court of King Sigebert of which he was Councilor v. G. Zonta, G. Balsamo-Crivelli, "History of Italian literature", Volume 1, Turin 1932, p. 38: "Venantius brought among the grim brutality of the Merovingians a flash of refinement, culture and Roman civilization, so much more suited to him the pride that he attributes to Lupo , adviser to Sigebert:" Under you, Rome she returned here and lives again ".
He was also very dear to King Sigebert's wife, Queen Brunhilde: "Two Dukes, Ursione and Bertefredo, took the residence of one of Brunilde's most trusted men, Lupo , who prepared to resist". v. A. Magnani, "Brunhilde: Queen of the Franks", Milan 2006, pp. 51. 45. 32. See also H. Grisar, A. Married Catelinda del Friuli, grand daughter of Agone, duke of Friuli from 653 to 662. Their children:

Gregory of Tours IX, 12, RHGF II, p. 339. & Godegisel (in second marriage) Its name suggests a connection with the Kings of Burgundia, one of whom was called Godegisel.
