About Marjorie Ruth Novorr
Marjorie Optican Novorr, 92, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on September 16, 1923 and died peacefully on March 23rd, 2016 at Village Shalom in Overland Park, Kansas.
Marge was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was lovingly called Gram by her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marge leaves behind two children, Kenny Novorr and Patty Novorr Traub, both of Dallas, Texas, and daughter-in-law Barbara Novorr and sister-in-law Shirley Novorr, both of Leawood, Kansas. Marge also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Jeff (Barb) Novorr, of Burke, Virginia, Scott (Jennifer) Novorr, and Craig (Alyson) Novorr, both of Overland Park, Kansas, Jason Traub, Mitch (Julie) Traub, Matt (Lidia) Traub, and Jordan Novorr, all of Dallas, Texas, and Simone Novorr of Washington DC. She also leaves behind fifteen great-grandchildren. Marge is predeceased by parents Helen and Samuel Optican, sister Edythe Jeidel, son Richard Novorr, and husband Howard Novorr, her best friend and partner in life for 71 ½ years.
Everyone who knew Marge will smile when remembering the joy and laughter she brought to their hearts. She loved to share her quick wit and sense of humor with her family and friends.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1:00 PM Friday, March 25th at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
