Marlow N. Krowen was born to Andrew and Inga Krowen at the farm in rural Westby on August 26, 1926. He passed away on December 24, 2015. He was with his family and friends for 89 years. Marlow attended grade school at Ueland School and graduated from Westby High School in May 1944. He then went on to serve in the army from March 1945 until December 1946. He came back from the army to farm with his Dad. After his parents passed, he continued farming with his brother Bennett.

During high school he met and dated Dolly Brightsman. Many years later they reconnected and in August 1982 they were married. At that time Marlow became Dad to Dolly’s five children.

Marlow loved farming and ranching. He loved working with his hands and was not afraid to get them dirty. He also loved spending time with his family. It was the only thing that would make him put the farming on hold. Anyone that knew Marlow knew that if they stopped by, they would get a cup of coffee and cookies. Later in life he continued to farm and was teaching his grandson everything he knew. He was still actively farming until the time of his passing.

He is survived by his sisters Lillian (Bob) Fisher and Donna Krowen, sister-in-law Margaret Krowen, seven nieces and nephews, 13 grand nieces and nephews, and 15 great-grandnieces and nephews in addition to four children Fred (Cindy) Kelm, Eileen Zuris, Lori (Wes) Godijohn, Randy (Lana) Bell and Larry (Bev Johnson) Kelm, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly, parents Andrew and Inga Krowen, brothers Arthur and Bennett and sister Gladys and her husband Cliff Gartzka and son Larry Kelm.
