Mrs. Mary (Gus) Boettcher, 86, 761 28th Ave., died Wednesday morning at Columbus Community Hospital following a three week illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Laurin Buzynski officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home with rosaries to be recited by St. Theresa Sodality and the Catholic Daughters of America at 3:30 p.m. Thursday and by the parish at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boettcher was born Aug. 20, 1895 in Columbus, the daughter of Matthew and Anna Wilk Briggs. She attended St. Francis Academy and married August F. (Gus) Boettcher on Feb. 15, 1917 in Columbus. She owned and managed Southside Realty and lived all her life in Columbus. Mrs. Boettcher was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Theresa Sodality and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include four nieces, Mrs. Helen (Louis) Mimick and Victoria Starostka of Columbus; Clara Skorupa of Duncan and Edna Ross of DeSoto, Kan. and three nephews, Edward Skorupa, Henry Briggs and Andrew Czapla, all of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1944, three brothers and four sisters.
