About Mary Clare MacCubbin
Mary Clare MacCubbin (Carroll)
Mary Carroll married Nicholas MacCubbin Sr. Their son was Nicholas MacCubbin Jr.
Mary's brother Charles Carroll II Esq. made his nephew Nicholas MacCubbin Jr. his heir on the stipulation that Nicholas takes the name "Carroll", which he did, despite the fact that Charles had a son - Charles Carroll III, the Maryland delegate to the Continental Congress and Signer of the Declaration of Independence and founder of the first Roman Catholic Church in Maryland (which had previously been illegal) where George Washington held his victory celebration after the Revolutionary War.
Nicholas MacCubbin Jr. (now Nicholas MacCubbin Carroll) married Anne Carroll. Their daughter was Ann Carroll who married William T.T. Mason for whom Nicholas built the elaborate manse known today as the Shipley Lydecker Mansion in 1804 Baltimore Maryland, which was Walt Disney's inspiration for the façade of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion, built in 1964 and opened 1969, as can be seen here:
