About Meyer Zipursky
Meyer and Leah lived on 15th Ave in Vancouver BC between Trutch and Balaclava. Meyer grew a vegatable garden in the back including raspberries and corn plants. He grew horseradish that at Pesach would bring tears to your eyes just smelling it.
Meyer also had a small concrete pond that he kept goldfish, and fed them oatmeal. He had a constant struggle with neighborhood cats and incoming birds to leave the fish, so eventually put chicken wire over the pond.
Leah kept a kosher kitchen and while not know for her cooking, made cucletten (hamburgers) that as a kid I remember being the best in the world.
Dave Kauffman (grandson via Leah's daughter Esther)
