About Minnie Flowers Lowry
Minnie Flowers was the daughter of Quinnie and Hattie Roe Locklear Sampson. She married Billy Lowry, Jr.

Minnie Flowers Sampson Lowry, 78, of 540 Cornith Road, departed this life on Aug. 8, 2013, at Highsmith Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville after a lengthy illness.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Berea Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
She was more affectionately called "Wick" within the family. She was born Aug. 19, 1934, to the late Mr. Quinnie Sampson and his wife, Mrs. Hattie Roe Locklear Sampson Sanchez.
She was preceded in death by an aunt with whom she lived while growing up, Anna Mae Locklear; a brother, Charles Thomas Sampson; two sisters, Ola Lee S. Burns and Katherine Locklear; and a grandson, B. William Lowry.
Lowry is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy Lowry Jr. of the home; three sons and three daughters, all of Pembroke; a brother; two sister-in-laws; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends; special caregivers she was blessed with, Phyllis Revels and Mattie Bell Damico; and a special friend in life, Janice C. Oxendine.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Locklear & Son Funeral.
