Norman Staunton Dike was educated at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, Brown University, Ph. B. 1885, LL. D. 1932 from Brown University, Columbia University, LL. B. 1887. Supervisor, Kings County, 1894-5; appointed County Judge, Kings County, by Governor Higgins, 1906; afterward elected three times to the same position; elected to the Supreme Court, Second Department, State of New York, in 1920; now acting as Official Referee for the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Second Judicial District. Judge Dike is the author of many published opinions. In 1894 Assistant to Judge Advocate General N. Y. N. G.; Lieutenant- Colonel on the staff of Governor Morton; officer, Military Training Camp at Plattsburg, New York, 1916, under General Leonard Wood; a Mason; member of the Society of Colonial Wars of the State of New York, and Governor for three years; previously a member of the Society of the War of 1812; member of American Bar Association, New York Bar Association, and Brooklyn Bar Association; member of many social clubs, including Psi Upsilon—Sigma Chapter, the old Hamilton Club of Brooklyn, the Piping Rock and Bar Harbor Clubs, and the Union and University Clubs in New York City.
