About Paul Theodor Zimmermann
GEDCOM Note
He had been there (Überlingen) to visit his uncle. Remember the story about the princess on the Isle of Main, which is an island half way across the lake (Constance) and the boat stops there. One of his cousins told him he would take him there to see the princess. Only trouble is, she was elderly.
His father was a pastry chef on the boats that crossed back and forth to Switzerland. When the job was eliminated, he started on the Swiss railways as a track walker, and was eventually promoted to conductor. (They're still advertising for help on the Swiss trains).
He as on a train that went to Poland and there was so much poverty that people would line the tracks asking for bread, which he gave to them. He died of some stomach problem. They took him to a health doctor, but it was too late, because he had already been poisoned by the treatment. Aunt Rosli told me this once when I was there.
