Biography
Philip Taber was born in about 1689 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts Bay. He was the son of Joseph Taber and Hannah (Gray) Taber. He married Susannah Tucker in 1709. Together, they had at least seven children. She died in 1724 after the birth of her child. He married Elizabeth Tillinghast in 1724. Together, they had at least two children. His second wife helped him to raise his other children.
In 1726, he purchased the farm of Captain James Rogers on the Neck in New London, Connecticut. On June 25, 1735, Philip writes a will and again on Aug 2 1750.

He had property in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. His sons Job and Philip died before he did.
Philip Taber of New London CT is often confused with his cousins of the same name, and who lived about the same time. This Philip was the son of Joseph Taber, who moved from Dartmouth, MA to New London, CT. He married Elizabeth Tillinghast and was born about 1682 and died on 27 Nov 1750 per the gravestone. It was Philip the son of Thomas Taber who married Susannah Tucker. Philip son of Thomas was born 7 Dec 1689 and died in Dartmouth, MA after Jun 1749. Finally, there is Philip the son of Philip Taber, who was born 29 Feb 1675 in Dartmouth, and died 5 Nov 1751 in Bristol County, MA.
