About Pierre Duperre
DUPERRE - Alfred P. Duperre age 78, of Metacomet Ave. Swansea died Wednesday at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Florida. He was the husband of the late Madeline J. (Powszak) Duperre. Born in Fall River, MA a son of the late Pierre Duperre and the late Loria (Doucette) Duperre, he has resided in Swansea since 1972. Mr. Duperre was a graduate of Davis School. He was employed as a Welder with Ottis Elevator in New Jersey for over 20 years. He was also employed as a Deck Hand for a Dredging Company for 10 years retiring in 1985. Mr. Duperre was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Swansea. He was a United States Army Veteran during World War II and a Navy Veteran during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 303 and it's Honor Guard. He was also an avid Fisherman and a Bingo Player. Surviving are: 2-daughters-Anne Marie Roberts of Jacksonville, FL; Mary Lou Conway Carvalho of Swansea, MA; 2brothers-Maurice Duperre of Fall River, MA; Raymond Duperre of Michigan; 5grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be held Wed. Jan 13, 1999 at 9:00 am from the BIRCHCREST' HOME OF THE WARING-SULLIVAN-ASHTONCOUGHLIN-DRISCOLL 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Michael's Church 270 Ocean Grove Ave. Swansea, MA 02777. Contributions in his memory may be made to the church. Burial Private.
