"UNCLE PET" WRIGHT DEAD Shortly before we go to press, the news comes of the death of "Uncle Pet" Wright, at his home near Leonard, Tuesday morning. DEATH OF P. A. WRIGHT Preston A. Wright, known to many as "Uncle Pet," and a resident of Shelby county for nearly sixty years, died at his home near Leonard, August 23. Death was due to Bright 's disease and paralysis. Deceased was born in Monroe county, December 27, 1838, thus being in his 83rd year at the time of his death. , On April 18, 1867, he was married to Miss Elizabeth E. Baker of Shelby county, who with six children survive. The children are, W. A. and Mrs. Brice Caldwell of Shelbina; Lon P., of Milan; Pearl V., of Novelty; N. P. and Mrs. Paul King of Leonard. One brother, Joseph Wright of Texas, and one sister, Mrs. John Gillaspy of Webster Grove, Mo., also survives. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 :30, at the Leonard Christian church, of which he was a member, conducted by Rev. F. M. Brannic of Shelbyville. Burial in the Leonard cemetery.
