I do believe Pritchett [John W. Pritchett in Southside VA Genealogies] makes a mistake when he lists Elizabeth Haynie Blackwell as William's daughter, as in the Will of William, he calls her his granddaughter, and as such, I would assume she was the daughter of Polly Hatchett who married Chapman Blackwell. Polly is not mentioned in the will, as she died before her father did. Chapman remarried to Prudence Russell Rutledge according to marriage index, but Prudence Russell Jeffress according to Pritchett. Perhaps she was married previously, too, but if so, Pritchett makes no mention of it, stating simply that she was a child of James Jeffress by his second wife, Ann Hogan, and states "Prudence Russell
Jeffress3 (19 April 1796 - 15 Sept 1873) married as his 2nd wife Chapman Blackwell (-15 Sept 1851) 25 Jan. 1809, who married 1st Polly Hatchett."

Narcissa W Jeffress who married John Archibald Hatchett in 1822, is said to be a sister of the above-mentioned Prudence, and I do know that the former was living with her family beside Prudence and Chapman in Henderson County, Kentucky, so the question is where the surname Rutledge comes from in the marriage index. Guess I need to make a trip to the courthouse and check out her surname at the time of her marriage to Blackwell. Lol Perhaps it is just difficult to read.
