Sioux Falls- Rev. James "Jimmy" Feay, 78, of Shawano, WI died suddenly Sunday, July 30, 2006.

Jim Feay was born in Sioux Falls, SD on December 22, 1927 the son of Henry and Edith (Archer) Feay. He grew up in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School and, at the age of 17, joined the Merchant Marines. After serving with the Merchant Marines he returned to Sioux Falls where he worked as a mechanic in Feay's Garage with his uncles.

Jim married Leita Siegfried on August 31, 1952 at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. At the age of 32 he enrolled at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD and graduated with a bachelors degree. He attended Drew University Seminary in Madison, NJ and graduated with a Masters of Divinity, becoming an ordained minister with the United Methodist Church.

Jim, Leita and family then moved to northeast Wisconsin where he served for 35 years from 1968 to 1993 doing mission and ministry work among the people of the Menominee Indian Nation.

In his free time Jim enjoyed doing things outdoors such as pheasant hunting, fishing and camping. He also liked traveling all over the United States with his wife, spending summers in his cabin in Hill City, SD, attending REC LAB leadership retreats and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally where he conducted many weddings for the bikers. Jim would also spend his free time doing volunteer work and ministering to the inmates at Wisconsin Federal Prisons.

Survivors include his 4 children, Sharon (Ken) Williams, Olmstead Falls, OH, Cynthia Feay, Shawano, WI, Grant Feay, Seattle, WA and Sheila (Steven) Feay-Shaw, Whitewater, WI; 8 grandchildren; brother, Richard (Bonnie) Feay, Omaha, NE; 2 sisters, Doris Graham and Judy (Howard) Greer, both of Sioux Falls; 3 sisters-in-law, Shirlee Feay, Wayzata, MN, Gladys McCracken, Brookings, SD and Betty Jean Siegfried, Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, Carroll "Mort" Mortenson, Sioux Falls, and a large loving family of nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Leita; parents, Henry and Edith Feay; sister, Elnor Mortenson; 2 brothers, "Bus" Henry Feay Jr. and Oliver "Joe" Feay and Joe's wife, Amy, and brother-in-law, Charley Graham.
