About Reynolds Churchill Miller
REYNOLDS CHURCHILL MILLER
BOOTHBAY HARBOR - Reynolds Churchill Miller, 87, died June 23, 1988, at a Portland hospital. He was born in New York City, the son of Burr Churchill Miller, sculptor of the Thomas Brackett Reed statue on Western Promenade, Portland, and Helen Reynolds Miller. He was a graduate of Taft School, Yale University class of 1923 and Columbia University School of Engineering 1928. For some years he was associated with Pennsylvania Power and Light Company as Electrical Engineer. Mr Miller made his first cruise along the Maine coast in 1923; began spending summers in Boothbay Harbor in 1932 and in 1937 moved to Maine. He was a familiar figure along the Maine coast which he and his family cruised every summer in their schooner the Vela. Mr Miller is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor Santee Miller; one daughter, Helen Miller Perry of Bandera, Texas. He was predeceased by his son, David Santee Miller. Funeral services will be private. There will be an open house Saturday, July 9th at 2 Perkins Road from 2-5 p.m.
