Biography
Birth
Richard Hall was born at Bradford, Massachusetts, on 6 Feb 1676, the son of Richard Hall and Martha (Benson) Hall.[1]
Marriage
Richard Hall married Abigail Dalton at Bradford, Massachusetts, on 24 Apr 1699.[2]
Richard Hall and Mehitable Barker published their intention to marry at Andover, Massachusetts, on 20 Apr 1715.[3] They were married before the birth of their first child, at Bradford on 25 Dec 1715.[1]
Residences
The Richard Hall family lived at Bradford, Massachusetts, until at least 1722, when their last child was recorded there, The Essex County historian and genealogist Sidney Perley says that between 1729 and 1732 they were in Billerica, Massachusetts.[4] By 6 Aug 1743, they moved to Harvard, Massachusetts, when Richard Hall purchased a homestead there.[5]
Death
Richard Bradford died at Harvard, Massachusetts, between 29 Sep 1760, and 28 Jun 1761. On the earlier date, Richard Hall when executed a deed for his 40-acre homestead at Harvard to his son Ephraim, with his wife Mehitable yielding her dower rights in the property. On the latter date, Ephraim and another man executed a deed for the same property in Harvard "bring the land that Richard Hall lately lived on."[5] There is no probate record for him in Worcester County.
Research Note
David B. Hall in The Halls of New England says that Richard died "about 1740,"[6] but the deeds cited above under the "Death" heading disprove this. (Bloom-1124 23:21, 14 May 2019 (UTC))
