Robert Smith

Robert Smith had no middle name. He was the son of John and Helene Smith. He was a commercial artist by profession. He worked on 42nd St in NYCity. His area of expertise was Lettering (calligraphy) and I found that at one time (according to my brothers) he did a special Tshirt for Gene Autry Club. He served in the Army Air Force during the second World War. He died on January 25th, 1957. During his long c ommute to work, he would walk to the bus stop, take the bus to the subway and then walk from the nearest subway stop to his office. The last company that I know he worked for was Fenger and Donderi. On that specific day, he walked through the Time and Life Bldg. The security guard at the door, said that he stepped on the mat to open the door and was gone before he hit the ground. Robert was 6.5" tall and had brown wavy hair.
