Ruben J. Miller

Mr. Ruben J. Miller of Reese, Michigan died Wednesday evening, March 4, 2009 at his home after a short illness. Age 84 years. He was born on April 5, 1924 in Vassar, son of the late Fred and Emma (Rogner) Miller. Ruben married the former Leona M. Kern on September 8, 1946 in Richville. He was employed with Weber Lumber in Richville for 18 years and then was employed with Dixie Lumber in Bridgeport from 1958 until his retirement in 1986. Ruben's work life was centered around wood-based projects, including home construction and cabinet making as evidenced by his immediate and extended family's homes and yards being well endowed with his handiwork, creativity, and craftsmanship. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville, an avid deer hunter and had enjoyed jigsaws, word search puzzles and spending time with his family. Surviving in addition to his wife Leona of 62 years are his children and their spouses, Terry and Karen Miller of Reese, Ann and Matthew MaMoody of Oakland, California, David Miller of Reese, Paul and Elsa Miller of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Aaron (Ana) Miller, Peter Miller, Rachel (Kevin) Peroni, Tasha MaMoody, James MaMoody, Jonathan Miller, Kayla Miller, Paul B. Miller and John Miller; brother and sisters, Floyd (Lois) Miller of Frankenmuth, Viola Ostrum of Vassar, Dorothy Bierlein and Arlene Bierlein both of Reese. In addition to his parents, 3 brothers, Harold, Alvin and Herman Miller and 2 sisters, Helen Hecht and Erna Wirth all predeceased.
