Samuel Robert Byers

SAMUEL BYERS was born 1749 in York County, PA, and died Bet. 1834 - 1836 in Lumpkin County, GA.
He married MARGARET HANDLEY 1776 in Pennsylvania.
She was born Bet. 1750 - 1760 in York Dist., S.C., and died Aft. 1840 in Lumpkin County, GA.
Samuel Byers served in the Revolutionary War for York Co., SC as a horseman in Col. Thomas Neel's regiment of New Acquisition District Militia for 53 days under Lt. James Martin, and was at Brier Creek, Georgia, March 3, 1779 where the patriots suffered a disastrous defeat.
