Samuel S. Sage Goes To Reward
Relatives and friends of Samuel S. Sage, of this place, were shocked on Sunday to learn of his passing which occurred at the LCM hospital in Kemmerer that day.
Mr. Sage, who had attained his 84th milestone, had not been in the best of health for the past few months, but up to a short time before going to the hospital was able to be about, and always greeted his friends with a smile, and pass a friendly joke, ever being of good nature, which was a factor in that he had a multitude of friends.
Deceased was the father of a large and respected family, his wife having preceded him in death in 1928 in Encampment, Wyoming, where the family resided at that time.
Impressive funeral services were conducted by Rev. Leeman at St. John the Baptist Episcopal church here on Wednesday afternoon, April 9, 1947, which was largely attended by relatives and friends.
Interment was in the Big Piney Cemetery.
Deceased had resided in Big Piney since 1928, and is survived by the following children; Mrs. Andy Wagoner, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Will Cameron, Cayucos, Calif.; Jose Sage, Big Piney, Wyo.; Mrs. June Payne, Long Beach, Calif.; William (Bill) Sage, Cancas, Washington; Mrs. Russell Hamm, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Alta Lee, Long Beach, California. Also 25 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
All the above mentioned sons and daughters were here for the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Will Cameron of Cayucos, Calif., whose health would not permit her to make the long journey.
There was a profusion of floral offerings.
The pallbearers were Guy Carr, Stanley Nebeker, W. D. Williams, ? Stacy, Fred Beck and J. F. Shipley.
F. W. Tanner Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
No record has been found to verify his middle name which is said to have been possibly "Silas" after his brother or "Selah" after his father.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Sep 6 2022, 4:46:30 UTC
