The Iola Register -- April 26, 1939 FUNERAL TOMORROW FOR SAMUEL WILLIS.
Samuel Lee WILLIS, 75 died this morning at his home at 220 West Jackson. Mr.WILLIS was born in Illinois. He came to Kansas as a young man and settled on a farm near Mildred. He moved to Iola in 1901 and has lived here since that time with the exception of 11 years spent in New Mexico. He is survived by his widow, the former Sarah Violet OSBORN; two daughters, Helen, of the home, and Mrs. Clovis NOE of Neosho, Mo., one son, Lee of Iola; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the Fairview Church at Mildred. The body will lie in state until noon tomorrow at the Waugh funeral home. The Rev. G.E.JENNISON will conduct the funeral service and burial will be in the Fairview cemetery.

Married at the Wesley Chapel Sunday evening April 12, Mr. Samuel Willis and Miss Violet Osborne. Rev. Howard officiated. The wedding marh was played by Miss Smith of Moran. After they departed from the church, a supper was served at Mr. Sam Jones. The bride and groom are both well known and highly respected. Their many friends wish them a long and happy life.
