  • ' Sir Nicholas Strelley, of Strelley in the county of Nottingham was thrice mar., 1st to Grace, dau. of Simon Digby; 2 Ellen, dau. of Sir Thomas Gresley; 3 Elizabeth, dau. of John Spencer, as it stands in Vincent, to which Thoroton adds that he was a Knight. It appears from Vincent's pedigree that all the children were by the last wife, & Thoroton make the eldest son and one of the younger children by his last wife, as also does Brailsford in his Derbyshire Pedigrees.
  • ' The issue of Sir Nicholas, as stated in Vincent, was 4 sons & 4 dau's, the dau's were Alice, wife of Sir John Biron, Margaret, Jane, wife of Sir ___ Willoughby, & 2nd of Thomas Shelton or Skelton of the county of Suffolk, and Isabel.
