"Sir Roderick Mackenzie, Baronet [S. 1703], of Scatwell, 2d but 1st surv. s. and h., b. about 1687; suc. to the Baronetcy, 1730. He m. in 1710, Janet, da. of Ludovick Grant, of Grant, by Janet, da. of Alexander Brodie, of Lethen. He d. 24 April 1750, at his house at Rosehaugh, co. Ross, aged 63. His widow d. there 10 Feb. 1761, aged 74."

DEATH
Reported in Aberdeen Press and Journal - Tuesday 08 May 1750
'On the 24th ult. died, at his House of Rosehaugh in Rosshire, aged 63, Sir Roderick Mackenzie of Scatwell Bart, a Gentleman of strict Honour, Probity and Piety, His Death is justly regretted by all his Relations and Acquaintances, as also the Poor, to whom, as their Necessities required, his charitable Disposition. all Occasions, afforded Relief.'
