About Sir William Calverley, Kt.
Received the honour of knighthood on the field of battle, in the 12th HENRY VII. He wedded Alice, daughter of Sir John Saville, of Thornhill, and left (with three other sons and two daughters, the elder of the latter of whom, Agnes, espoused John Vavasour, of Weston) a son and successor, Walter.

Killed with his brother Richard in the field by the Earl of Surrey in expedition to Scotland. His will was dated Aug. 2, 1506. He married 1st Anne Vavasour, 2nd Alice Savile, daughter of John Savile of Thornhill, knight. She was a widow [at the date of] 2nd of Henry VIII, 1511, and died 1529
