Susie Payne

Mrs. Susie Beverly Payne, (1889 – May 15, 1980), 91, of Franklinton, died at the Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle. She was a member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church for 78 years.

She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Ezelle (Alma) Scriber, Franklinton; three sons: L. T. Payne, Eminence, L. B. Payne, Pleasureville and Gayle Payne, Bethlehem; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17th at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Methodist Church, with Dr. Jiles Kirkland, Jacksonville, FL (former pastor of the Bethlehem Methodist Church) officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Steve Barlow, pastor of the Bethlehem Methodist Church. Burial was in the Franklinton Cemetery.
