About Theodore Gabriel Cupp
He was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania and in 1894 he moved to Wheeling, West Virginia. There, he founded Wheeling Roofing and Cornice Co. (manufacturers of cornices, roofing, tar felt paper, and galvanized iron) with partner J.F. Agnew. In 1900, with G.C. Janson, A.J. Wagener and A.A. Horcher he bought out Agnew’s share and formed a corporation. Theodore was a successful tradesman. Later, after a partner ran off with funds, he founded a new firm, “T.G. Cupp Roofing” in 1916.
