Thomas E. DeSantis WAUKESHA - Waukesha resident Thomas E. DeSantis died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at his home at the age of 85. He was born in Lorville on Aug. 3, 1915, to Angelo and Angeline (nee Levis) DeSantis. On June 6, 1936, he married the former Freda Parsons in Belvidere, Ill.
Mr. DeSantis had been employed by Waukesha Motor Co. before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1945 in the Philippines. Following his discharge from the service he became the owner/operator of Tackle Tavern in Waukesha. His other work history includes: Waukesha Rubber, cab driver, Gambles, the boys’ school on Prairie Avenue and Miller Brewing Co., where he retired in 1975. He was a charter member of St. Williams Catholic Church and a member of Milwaukee Brewery Workers. He loved to golf, a sport in which he made a hole-in-one, and loved to bowl. He bowled for Miller Brewery and had a high 700 series as a senior.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Freda, along with their children, Diane (John) Steinke of Mukwonago and David DeSantis of Waukesha. He was the proud grandfather of Jesse and Rhonda Steinke of Mukwonago; and dear brother of Marie Weatherall and Chester "John" (Audrey) DeSantis, both of Waukesha. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Thomas in 1943 and Terry in 1946; his brothers, John and Frank; and his sister, Josephine Dascenzo.
No formal services will be held. Masses to St. Williams Catholic Church are appreciated.
Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 547-4035, assisted the family with the arrangements.
