Gazette Info: Gazette 29344. M.C. His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to confer the Military Cross in recognition of his gallantry and devotion to duty in the field. For conspicuous gallantry and ability during operations on 6th and 7th August, 1915, in the Gallipoli Peninsula. He guided the night advance of his brigade with skill and resource, especially when the head of the column came under the enemy's fire. Owing to the severity of the opposition the advance came gradually to a standstill and at this point Captain Eastwood rendered very valuable service in reorganising the column, thus enabling it to continue the advance.

Thomas Hugh Eastwood (12 March 1922– 25 October 1999) was an English composer.
He is the son of General Sir Thomas Ralph Eastwood and Lady Mabel Vivian Temperley Eastwood.
Tom Eastwood was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge University. During World War II he was Aide-de-Camp to his father who was Governor of Gibraltar.
