Thomas Fitton

We know very little about Thomas Fitton. Joyce said she remembers her Grandma Jesse mentioning that he played the piano and Joyce said she was under the impression he may have been part of a well off family.

Thomas left Jesse within three months of Kenneth's birth and never reappeared, Joyce said. Mystery as to why, but there was a rumor that he may have gone down with a ship that was lost on a voyage back to England. Jesse eventually formally divorced Thomas, but unsure when that was.

Jesse, 18, is recorded in that same census as living with her parents in xxxxx. This Thomas Fitton immigrated from England a year earlier, in 1909. Estimated year of birth is 1888. He was working as a laborer in a coal mine, according to the census record.
