The New York Times reported August 4, 1912:

Countess de Sibour Here for Visit.==

The Countess de Sibour arrived yesterday on the White Star liner Cedric, accompanied by her two sons, Count Louis and Count Jean, to spend a few weeks visiting her relatives in this country. On the voyage across Count Louis, who is 17 years old, defeated one of the Olympian visitors on board in the athletic sports held on deck.

The reporter, although he writes about "Count Louis and Count Jean," was referring to Louis and Jacques. Neither of these two brothers was 17. Louis, born December 26, 1891, was 20 years old in August of 1912. Jacques, who was born August 4, 1896, was 16 on August 4, 1912.

The last years of Vicomte Jacques de Sibour are described in the following text (translated from the original French),

"When he was demobilized on March 14, 1946, Jacques joined the London office of American Overseas Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines. From April 1, he served as Regional Traffic Manager in Paris, then in June 1947, he was appointed European Sales Manager in the company's London office. Although he became a reservist in the U.S. Air Force, his residence abroad disallows continuing to train.

"In 1948, Jacques and Violette separate. Resorting to a divorce, this is finalized at Reno, Nevada on Feb. 2, 1949. Jacques then married American, Elvira (Vera) Brokaw Fairchild. On the 15th of the same month, Jacques was appointed vice-president and CEO of American Airlines in Mexico. He resigned in October for personal reasons and returned to the United States. He moved with his new wife to Jamaica, more precisely to Pimento Hill, near Montego Bay.

"In August 1950, when the Korean War has just started, Jacques offers its services to the new headquarters of the Air Command Caribbean. His proposal was apparently viewed favorably at the local level, but he is turned down for administrative reasons, due to his assignment to the Army Reserve Military Intelligence. He is advised to contact the representative of the U.S. Army in the Caribbean, but this organization affects no change.

"After the deaths of his second wife in 1965, Jacques married Patricia Chewan, daughter of a New York shipping magnate. He retired later in Portugal and died, in Lisbon, at the end of April 1979."
