HUDSON---Wardell C. Perry, 85, a resident of Fireman's Home since 1982, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1919 in Athens, Greene County, he was the son of the late Leroy and Hazel (Brooks) Perry. Before retiring he was employed in the production department at Aero Built in West Athens. He was a life member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Athens and sang in the choir for many years. He was a member of the W.C. Brady Hook and Ladder Fire Company No. 1.
Mr. Perry umpired little league baseball games and enjoyed taking children out in his boat on the Hudson River. Surviving are several good friends including Sally Brandow of Earlton, and his friends at the Fireman's Home. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Fireman's Home Chapel, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson. The W.C. Brady Hook and Ladder Company No. 1 will hold their services 7 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in the Athens Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green St. Hudson.
