Yahya Ibrahim Hassan Sinwar (29 October 1962 – 16 October 2024) was a Palestinian politician who served as the de facto leader of Hamas. He was the chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau in August 2024 until October 2024 and the Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip in February 2017 until October 2024, succeeding Ismail Haniyeh in both roles.
