Chettur is a well-known Nair tarwad ( matriarchal family) located near Mankara in Palghat , Malabar District of Madras Presidency of British India. This family has produced many eminent personalities like Sir. C.Sankaran Nair. Another respectable family Palat has many close connection through marriage with the Chettur family.
