People who trace their origin from the area of Bogdan/Bogdani/Bogdanas - the ancestor of the family which gave the name to the 'Mahala'/neighborhood - north of the currently abandoned old village of Shënmitër/Shëmitër, which is the Albanian name for Saint Demetrius of Thessalonica.
After the end of XVIII/beginning of XIX centuries, due to the forced conversion to Bektashism led by the Ottomans these families carry also the surnames Ibrahimi and Budini.
We do not know from where our ancestor came from, there have been tested for the Y-DNA hg: I-FT355750, more then 35 Albanians, downstream of I-S17250 and I-PH908, disappointingly all with negative results!!
So we must also look elsewhere, geographically and ethnically!
Recently we gladly discovered our first certain and concrete connection with the Horvat/Horvath family, we both share the common Y-DNA paternal line through the subclade I-FT355524, with TMRCA 950 ybp, but we aren't able to 'reconcile' the genetic results with the historical background/route/dynamics regarding the distribution of this paternal line.
Therefore there is only one solution to this puzzle, more genetic tests should be done(!) and possibly share the information with one another, so that we can finally construct the past of our common Y-DNA line.
Regarding the abovementioned aspect, i'm referring specifically to the samples id:YF109768 & id:YF112482, tested by Nebula Genomics and uploaded to Yfull tree, they both belong to the ancestral I-FT355750* clade and their informations (family story) could shed much more light to this matter.
So i hope that these persons, our genetic relatives(!) would have the kindness and courtesy to cooperate with us.
