Sood/Kuthiala is a person who is a Rajput (Raja Putra), son of King. As per prevalent practice, the senior most son of the King used to ascend the throne, and become king. Whereas younger siblings were allotted various jobs for running the kingdom smoothly. Running and supervising King's kitchen being one of important job. The word is derived from Kothi, meaning Store attached to King's kitchen. The person in-charge of Kothi was called Kuthiala. His main job was to arrange for provision for the royal kitchen, issue material to the cooks, supervise cooking and thereafter service of food to the King.
